ACHEMA 2000 The world’s largest event for chemical engineering, environmental protection and biotechnology ACHEMA 2000 sets new records Barometer of technological trends and global economy For one week, from 22 to 27 May, ACHEMA 2000 will once again transform Frankfurt am Main into a metropolis for chemical engineering, environmental protection and biotechnology. The organizer, DECHEMA Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, expects to attract around 250,000 people from 100 countries to the world’s largest exhibition for the process industries and their equipment suppliers. It is already certain that ACHEMA 2000 will again set a string of new records.
The number of exhibitors, from 46 countries representing every continent, will probably reach the 4,000 mark for the first time (1997: 3,697 exhibitors).More than one third come from abroad. With approximately 146,000 m2 net exhibition space, the Frankfurt Exhibition Grounds are almost fully booked. Compared with 1997, the floor space has increased by around 4%, which is a good indication of growth
There has also been a marked increase in exhibitors from countries such as India, Taiwan, Slovenia, Spain, Finland, Italy, Turkey and the USA. The increasing international interest is also a reflection of tougher international competition and the process of globalization, which present not only new challenges, but also many new opportunities. The current exhibitor lists, indicating hall and stand numbers, are available on http://www.achema.de. They can also be accessed by exhibition group and with links to company web sites. The largest exhibition groups are traditionally Pumps, Compressors, Valves and Fittings, and Laboratory and Analytical Techniques, followed by Mechanical and Thermal Processes and Instrumentation, Control and Automation Techniques.
